Default Adding aero screen lights

I want to put some leds in my rear aero screen.

I know plenty of you have removed your screen and it would be great if you could give me some pics/ steps on how to take it off.

my friend owns an engraving company so i can get that done for free.
then i want to use either plain leds or this laser led box http://www.xoxide.com/redlazledlig.html. its 3/8" thick and i think i might be able to take apart the black plastic screen holder and put this in there....

If only i could get the screen off!!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Comments and pics of your setup are more than welcome!

What exactly are you trying to do? To remove the windscreen and frame is only a matter of removing the two screws at the rear of the screen. However, you can't seperate the screen from the frame without prying the two sections of the frame apart. You wont find much room, if any, inside of the frame. You'll need to use some type of glue to put the two sections of the frame back together. Hope that helps...

Can you point out to me these 2 screws and what to do to get them out?

Pics would be great

I want to either disassemble the screen and put a laser led box inside the windscreen housing , or i want to take off the windscreen, drill holes in the bottom, and put leds in there so that they shine up through the plexiglass.

is this possible?

I can picture this...cracks me up!

To the OP - Try searching under username Macgyver, he's been on here forever and this was discussed alot a few years back. His website is still up, he knows alot about led's and still lists a product for the windscreen light. Look under products, interior lights. He could probably point you in the right direction.

You mean you wanna do this.

Here are some quick info.
With the windscreen in the upright position, use a small flat to remove the 2 caps that covers the screws. Then use a larger philips to unscrew it. Sit on a comfortable chair with the windscreen in hand. Use a couple of small flat driver, or find someone with nails, to pry open the unit. The best place to start is on either tip. It is make out of hard plastic, and will not break that easy. carefully and slowly pull it apart. The two piece is glued together with soft gooey glues. Once the pieces are apart, you can use your hand to remove the rest off the glue. the actual screen is screw to one side of the mount via 3 screw. Take those off, give to your friend to engrave it. all you need is several leds pointing at the correct position to illuminated. If your friend can engrave it for you for free, then buy several leds and wire them together and you are all set. It took me about 10 hours and 20 bucks. I personally recommend getting Dan's (Modifry) kit, which include a multi-color led solution. When you break, it turns red, when you backup, it turns white, it even blink yellow when you signal.
