Default Adding tweeters to an AP1?

I want to add some tweeters to my AP1, after seeing that the AP2's have them built in the doors in a new slot.
Can it be done? How would I go about adding them?

If all else fails, I'll just get a nice set of component speakers with a crossover or something.

Can I get AP2 door panels and put them on the AP1?

Any help or recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Need to post in the electronics forum. But it will take some fiberglassing pods and choose the place you want them mounted.

You best bet would be just buy some AP2 door panels from a wrecked S.

02 and 03's have the tweeters in the doors. My 02 does. I would just sell your door panels and get some from an 02 or 03. Here is an interior pic of mine, you can clearly see them on the doors.

Buy newer door panels as others said or just cut a couple holes for the tweeters.
That's what I did and mounted them near the stock speakers.

I'd think mounting them there would be a lot harder to do..

Any guides or pillars with housings already cut and formed?

Could they fit in a single gauge a pillar pod possibly?
I guess even if they could there is no passenger a pillar pod so would have to fab something up for there.

i was looking around and it seems that you can cut the oem tweeter pods into the non-tweeter ap1 door panels. Since I'm no good with fiberglass and that sort of thing and red/black door panels go for a ton of $$ ill probably be cutting ap2 tweeter pods into my doors. they are pretty cheap from the dealer.
