Advice please - front speakers
Hello,
I'm a French guy, owner of a 2005 navy blue S2000.
I wanted to change the OEM audio set-up because it's impossible to hear a clear sound on a highway (130k3/h, 4000 tr/mn)
I would like an improvement in sound clarity and power, not the ultimate sound system
So I changed myself the original headunit by a Pioneer DEH-8400BT.
With the advices of a french car audio forum, I just bought a mini-ampli Alpine KTP-445, which will double the power of the headunit (2x40W instead of 2x20W)
It rests me to buy the new speakers with tweeters.
I hesitate between :
-Pioneer TS-D1720C : 60W nominal, 260W max, sensitivity 88db, depth: 2-1/2"
-Pioneer TS-A1605C : 60W nominal, 350W max, sensitivity 90db, profondeur enceintes 2-1/8"
Wich ones do you advice me ? because I don't know if a 2-1/2" depth speaker will be installed easily.
Other question : do I need to buy speaker adapters ?
Many thanks for you help !

I dont' have any experience with the Pioneer speakers but I just installed a set of Polk DB6501's (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB65...01.html?tp=106) and they sound great. Vast improvement over the stock speakers. I have an Alpine HU running at 18 rms powering them. I ran them on the stock HU for a day or two and the Alpine HU made a world of difference.
I didn't have to do any modification to the door in order to install them. I used the mount that was supplied with the Polks and they fit right into the stock speaker space. The tweeter also fit in very easily (I used double sided tape to hold it in instead of glue though). Works great!

Did you have to make adjustments to the speaker baskets?
