Default AEM temp gauge / kit instal

Hi Guys,

I purchased an AEM oil temperature gauge but the compensating cable between sensor and gauge is not long enough to get from cabin to my desired position.

Is it Type k compensating cable anyone know?

Is there some type of AEM extension you can purchase?

Thanks,

John

Im not too savvy on AEM accessory products like wire extensions but I do remember reading somewhere another member had a similar issue and just solder/spliced in his own extension.

Yeh, that's what I'm going to do. I got my meter out today and measured across the probe expecting to see something around 10 ohms if it was a thermocouple and 112 ish if was a 2 wire RTD but it read about 9.8k ohms which must mean its a thermistor or something like that.

Ill give it a chop and solder tomorrow.

It's not very often I get my soldering iron out but I do the smell of solder!
