Default Aftermarket Head Unit Mounting Hardware

Does the 2005 need any mounting hardware to accept an aftermarket head unit that the aftermarket head unit wouldn't come with? I remember installing a head unit on my integra that I needed some extra hardware to mount the deck on to. The guy at Best Buy made a funny face when I told him what car I have; he'd never heard of it before.

Also, what wiring harnesses are compatible? If I tell him I want a 2000 accord wiring harness or something like that, would that work for the '05 s2k?

Chris

Just like Willee said you shouldn't need a mounting kit. What HU did you purchase?

As for a harness, you should be able to pick on up at Best Buy or any local audio shop. If I remember correctly it is a standard Honda adapter. It should look like this:

This pictures shows the four screws that need to be removed to replace the HU. Very easy, the hardest part is getting the radio door off the dash open the radio door, and gently, but firmly pull from the base of the door itself, like around the hinges, its only clipped in but the first time you pop it out you feel like your going to rip it in half... its just that the clips are still new.

Have fun!

That'll work. and yeah taking the door off is scary, but very do-able without damage. You will, however, lose your dash controls. If you want to keep them you will need to check out this thread dash controls It is at the top of the electronics section page and offers many solutions to that common question/ problem.

Yeah, I knew about that one. I'm waiting for a reply from Qube right now.

Install went well, though I still need new fronts. Ohh well, next week's project.

Thanks
