you have to.....well unless you actually trust other people....when i used to work at bestbuy the quality of the jobs they do are poor and they do it because they know that the customers arent going to pull apart their dash and look at everything...its all a chop job and ive heard stories of people programming remotes to alarms before the customer leaves and keeping an extra remote to jack the car later....happened here where i live twice already. Thats why I install it all myself....also get the proximity if you have a soft top...saved me once already

i have an ap1 that didn't come with the immobilizer thing. to get the door locks to work without relays, i made two pins and inserted them into the two empty holes in the door lock/unlock box behind the dash radio controls. there's a thread here somewhere explaining it.
