Sorry 'bout that - I misread your post - it was a very long week!

That really sucks! I sure wouldn't want my alarm to be able to be turned off by hitting the valet switch with the key out of the ignition - it is sort of hidden, but not very well.

Sure sounds to me like something is really messed up in your alarm unit. I suppose you could buy a new Honda one and just stick it in there and hope that it is the control unit. However if it is something else you'd just be wasting your money.

Another tact would be to just follow the installation instructions in reverse and yank the whole thing and go aftermarket. I'd want to be the one pulling the old unit out just so that I'd know that everything was put back the way it should be. However, I don't know how all of the computers in the car would take this sort of thing - I'd guess you'd have to re-introduce your original remotes to the car.

This is definitely out of my league! Any electrical engineers out there?

its quite allright :-)

but you are telling me that in your with the stock Honda alarm, if you press the valet switch without the key, you can NOT shut it off?

In my car I can and I thought that was in case you misplaced your key you can still shut it off so it doesnt keep arming itself
