which model of cillford or viper is good to get and if possible to get two remotes like the ones where it gives you the remote that looks like a cell phone and another lil cheap one? i just searched and somebody suggest compustar. is that a better alarm system ?
also wheres a good place to put the proxi sensors? my uncle car had proxi sensor that just kept on going off and was really annoying and i want barely any false alarms. or is it best not to get proxi sensory

I have the Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5 w/ remote start. It has the "cell phone" style pager you mentioned. I love this alarm, though the range could definetely be improved on. A lot of people also told me to get the Compustar alarm, since the frequency it uses is supposedly a Canadian frequency or something not commonly used in the US, so the range is much higher without much interference.
I have a Compustar and the range is damn good. I had a solid connection one night in downtown at a bar/club. I parked the car on the street (one of the few safe, free places to park) about 1/2 mile away and a clear connection. I wouldn't have had that with my old Viper in my other car.
Prox is installed underneath the center console (between the driver/passenger seats).

I have a Clifford 10.5, and the range is nowhere near what is advertised. I'm lucky if I get one block with wood structures in the way.
I have a proximity sensor installed in the center console with a hardwired switch under the dash to turn it off if necessary. I found that it will interfere with my Wi-Fi connection when parked in my driveway.
