Default Allright, here goes ...

After pouring over a fair amount of material and seeking out the advice of people I believe are knowledgeable on the subject, I've decided to go with the following set-up for my S:

JL Audio Stealthbox SB-H-S2000/10W3
JL Audio 300/4 amp
JL Audio XR650-CSI door speakers
Alpine CDA-7893 head unit
Alpine CHA-S634 changer
Monster Cap 1 Farad Stiffening Capacitor
Dynamat Xtreme Door Kit

Final thing I'd like to do, is get the opinion of the group on the pluses and minuses of this set-up. Thanks very much. Flame away.

Another board member is selling somthing like this setup. FS: JL Audio Setup

I think that the Dynamat is a waste, I installed it and yes it does help, but only when the car is stopped. Topdown 70mph I can't tell.

On the others stuff.
Stealthbox
Alpine CDA-7893 head unit
Alpine CHA-S634 changer

The others I have never heard, so my comments will not help.

Great set up! I as well be doing a similar set up

JL Stealthbox
JL 300/4 amp
JL XR650CSI component speakers
Kenwood KDCX959
Sirius Satellite Radio
Monster Cap 1 Farad Cap
Monster XLN Pro interconnects & speaker wires

It's true what they say, "great minds think alike".

Are you sure you need the capacitor?

Yes, This helps to provide the needed power the amps need when it draws current. If you have an amp and subs w/out the cap and the amp draws power (current) that it needs you will see that it dims your lights because it takes current away from other electrical components. When you add the cap then it stores a certain amount of current so that when your amp has a need for power it will draw upon the cap then it will recycle from the alternator to get filled up again.

I have been known to be wrong before, but that was how the cap was explained to me.

True it is an overkill and you can also use a .5 farad cap. But what the heck I got a great price of a 1 farad cap (lower than a .5 farad cap) so why not get it, save money and not worry about overdrawing current.

Yeah, that's how I understand a capacitor works too. That's why I asked.
As Secret AP1 stated, that is overkill. I have the JL 500/5 amp and there is no dimming going on and I listen to it VERY loudly.
