Alpine 7995 Questions
Just bought SC Highlander's Alpine 7995 and Rockford Fosgate Power 400.4 four channel amp (I can't believe how good it sounds) and have a couple of questions.
I have the RF running my front speakers and rear channels bridged to run my Stelathbox.
For one reason or another when I try to increase the volume on the sub, nothing happens. I did turn the sub control on in the deck. The only way I can increase the bass is to increase it via the bass treble adjustments for the component speakers. Any ideas?
How should I set up the crossovers on the amp? HP front LP rear or leave both channels at full and make adjustment through the deck?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Right, as far as I know, to use the separate sub controls on the head unit, you need to have a separate sub amp. So it seems right that you can only control the sub's bass through the normal controls on a four channel amp.
You shouldn't need to adjust anything other than the gains to get your treble/bass correctly.
A good audio system has everything set flat and no loudness button turned on on the head unit.
The rear two channels should definitely be set to only LP since they run the sub, and you definitely don't want any other sound ranges going to the sub. The front, I would say put to HP.. but you should play with that setting. Like I said before though, set those settings and make sure your gains are set properly; I would leave the HU flat (at 0's).

also, as i recently discovered -- for these alpine units - the subwoofer level should be set at +15 and adjusted down, not set at +0 and adjusted up.

So if I understand you right, if my gain is turned up all the way and my sublevel was set at 0, then when I move up the scale I will notice no difference in sub db? Is this why I hear no difference at 0 or +15?

Thanks for the help. Here are the answers to your questions. Phase adjustment makes no difference. Sub is connected to Sub outs. Rear channels is bridged. Amp does not have a switch for bridge/non bridge mode. I believe amp is wired correctly (except for that reverse polarity foot note on pg 18). Stealthbox prewired from JL (Stealthbox has bee through 3 HU so I know that is not the issue). I have the amp wired like the picture on pg. 18. When switch is set on 4 only sub works. If it is set on 2 all channels work. Anyway I still tried several different settings and I still can't get the sub adjustment to make any difference.

Finally. It is all dialed in and sounds fantastic. A little less power to the fronts, a little bit more power to the rear and I can tell a noticable difference in the bass boost. Oh and it always helps to double check the wiring, which I did not do. I had the sub wired to the front speaker outs and the fronts wired to the rear outs. Thanks again PJK3
