I just picked up alpine's 2002 spring catalog and am very interested in the CDA-7998. It has the new fantom face XL feature that flips up a little to make it bigger than a standard unit i'm wondering if this will fit in the S2000 without problems. Has anybody else looked into this unit yet, if it fits without problems this is the unit i'm goin with.

 

I'm interested aswell, can the SWI-3 from PAC work with this unit?

I have the CDA-7969 w/ phantom face and you can adjust the angle too. I would imagine that the 7998 pops out a little more to provide the wider screen face. Only way to try it is first see it on display and go out and see if it will stick out and not rub the top. My unit sticks out a little.
