Default Alpine 9887 - Is this a good unit for

So for some odd reason this month, I sold all my stereo stuff to start all over. I only had an Alpine 9857 deck coupled with Alpine Type-R components. I literally just cleared everything out from wires, harness, brackets, Ipod connector, DCI, as a package deal to a member on here.

I went out and got me this month:

JL 10"W3V3 Sub - no box yet but looking to build one for the side of the trunk or just purchase one from Wlaurent.
JL ZR650 CSi components
Alpine PDX-4.150 Amp

I am going to probably get some type of dynamat material for the doors and trunk. Do I really need to do the floor though? Also as for speaker wires, are there certain brands I should look into, or it doesn't really matter, as long as I get a thicker gauge wire that are twisted?

Now I need a new headunit. I was looking at the JVC-NX5000, but the only reason to get it would be because it can do so many things, but then I realized I probably don't need the extra things just as NAV, DVD...etc. Plus buying a used with no warranty is just scary since so many things can go wrong with something that has so many features.

I then looked at Alpine HU's again and the 9887 is the newest model... so I looked into that. Would that be the best HU for my setup since Ipod Connection is easily available with the Ipod wire for $20 bucks? Any one have suggestions on different HU's?

I will probably have a full detail install this spring when I begin to put everything in. It's winter here and the S is hibernating.

Thanks

John

I snagged the CDA-9886 and absolutely love it, got it from Crutchfield and the iPod wire came with it free. $299.99
