Default polk db6500 components

im getting the polk components and a decent alpine deck. what are some good amps that will power them sufficiently. i dont plan on adding a sub. plus where should i put the amp. thank you
also, if i were to get an alpine deck lower than the 9851, what type of modifry dci would i need to keep the factory controls?
and if i were to get a 9851 or higher, would the PAC SWI-ALP Steering Wheel Audio Control Interface be good. its like 50 bucks cheaper.

Hifonics Titan 8800. $175 from sonicelectronix.com. 110wrms x 2 @ 4-ohms and 440wrms x 1 @ 4ohms for a sub. Cant complain. Great sound. And the 110wrms rating is right there with the Polk 100wrms handling capacity.

As far as the DCI, you would need an Alpine adapter, of course. And I think Modifry now makes a wired Alpine version. You will probably want that one instead of the infrared one.

The PAC unit I think should work on any unit that has a remote. I think it works the same as Modifry's infrared DCI. Modifry's has some extra options, though, such as speed sensitive volume control. A must have in a Convertible. He also combines a few switches, to expand on the OEM controls. Check out his website. There should be a manual on there that explains everything. I think its

Check my thread for pics. Should be on the first page or two.

I'll go ahead and tell you that the PAC is complete garbage compared to the DCI. I wouldn't piss on it to put out a fire. I've had both and the DCI is definitely the way to go. I wouldn't take the PAC if it was free. Just order the Alpine DCI and you're set. Easy to install and expands the stock controls capabilities.

BTW, I have an alpine HU with the Polk Momo's up front. Nice combo. I have a two channel alpine amp powering them and it sounds great. I forgot the model number though.

You can get an Alpine mrv-f345 for around $200 on eBay - I like Alpine amps - good clean sound.

I'd also get Modifry's DCI - works very well and has speed sensitive volume.
