Alpine CD Changer vs OEM CD Changer
For all your cd changer installation cable woes, with thanks to the guys from handa-accessories.com. Gives the cable routes, http://www.handa-accessories.com/S2000/s2k...2kcdchanger.pdf
However where the changer cable goes through the center console, under the leather, it sits a bit too high as it's quite a chunky cable. I stripped the insulation off of the changer cable, only the outer insulation, so the internal wires sit a bit flatter, you can't tell the cable is there now. Steps 24 to 26 on the above pdf document. I have the 2002 version of the installation instructions and nothing has changed other than the center is now leather.
Hope that helps honda9krpm, reklein

Anyone else add one of the older Alpine changers? I still have a S600 Alpine but didn't put it in yet.
I think the best place might be under the passenger seat.
Does Circuit City sell the adapter to make it work?

i put mine under the drivers seat because it limits the range of motion of the seat... and short passengers often pull my passenger seat all the way forward so their feet aren't on the cross brace in the floor.
circuit city should have the adapter - any place that install stereos would.

which adaptor are you looking for ? I think I have a honda -> alpine adaptor at home (left over from a previous install). send me a pm if you're interested, at the least it'll save you a couple of bucks.
Jason,
the blitzsafe adaptor has two leads coming out of out, one is a 9-pin round din which the alpine cable plugs into. the other is a 14 pin square end (which is what you see in diagrams as the bus cable) that end plugs into the back of the radio.
the hardest part is finding a place to stuff the adaptor.

Installing the Blitzsafe adapter and changer this weekend.
1) Where is the best place to hide the 20 foot long cd changer cable? I'm mounting it under the drivers seat.
2) Best place to hide blitzsafe adapter? Behind radio?

was wondering the same thing. since that changer (the CHA-S634) works with mbus heads (via the mbus/ai switch on it) it stands to reason that it would work with the s2k stock head unit as long as you have both adapters (the one for honda -> mbus and the mbus -> ai-net cable).
i'm going to pick one up today and hopefully shoehorn it under the drivers seat. i'll let you guys know.
