I'm looking at any of these components:

Infinity Perfect 6.1
Infinity Kappa 60.3cs
MB Quart 216.8 (kinda expensive tho)
Boston Acoustic 6.5

Can't decide yet. I might have to once the CDA-7878 hits the market.

Amp, I have a Sony ES that puts out 35x4 but I can bridge it to get somewhere around 75~90x2 to power the components.

I'll post the best prices that I get from around here, y'all do the same so that we can get the cheapest.

Thanks,

called my local shop today and the buyer says "i think that is a special order item??? i think we got one last month for a guy"

Pleeeeze.....thought this shop was one of the better independents in Kansas City....may need to re-think this one.

They are checking with the local Alpine rep....but talking $850 if (when) the get it. I'll look elsewhere...group buy? I can't believe there is not someone on this board that can get us a decent deal...Who can hook us up?

Proposed setup:

Boston Rally 6.5 components in the front
???4" in the rear
Custom sub in the well....like to see the JL solution (looks like it is coming)
Older, but perfect punch 45 for the fronts
Need something new to power the sub
CDA-7878 with IR mod...man I want a direct wire solution!

I just won an auction for the Perfects and I think I'll be getting those. I got it for $250 (shipped).

Can you that by using a cross-over (aside from the one that came with the perfects) ? The Alpine head-unit (7878) has a built-in x-over that might be of help.

I'm not sure if the Alpine build-in crossover will work. The speakers's owner's manual does not recommand it. Check out this pdf: Perfect 6.1 Owner's Manual in PDF format

Does anyone know what the story is on the CDA-7877 (like does it exist)? This SoundDomain thread ( http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubb/Forum8/HT...TML/004032.html ) makes reference to it as if the only difference (besides price) between it and the 7878 is the lack of internal amplification. Does anyone know if it supports MP3 playback?

Thanks for the info Barry. I kind of figured as much since I could not find any info on this mystery 7877 (even on alpine1.com). Although I am disappointed!

was at good guys! (West coast audio/video store chain), they got the unit today. $799 installed. they have 12 units at the warehouse a 2 day wait - but they couldn't install it for a week...

$799? ouch! Too much for my blood, went for the Sony cdx-m450x head unit instead. An amp, head unit, 2 sets of speakers, sub, and sub amp + installation adds up quick!
