Alpine CDE-136BT
After 6 years, my stock radio final took a crap and died. I was looking at some upgrade options and decided to go into the local Bestbuy. Long story short, the rep recommended the following:
1. CDE-136BT - Headunit

2. KTP-445U - Universal Power Pack
http://shop.alpine-usa.com/products/...4.0.0.0?pp=12&
Any feedback would be appreciated? Thnx in advance.

The KTP-445 has definitely been discussed before:

You should be fine with that recommendation. Realize though that your OEM speakers may not be suitable for what you are upgrading too, especially if you add the Power Pack (definitely a noticeable improvement when compared to just the HU).
Believe the HU recommended has blue tooth capability, so make sure you need that. Otherwise you can go a step down to the model that doesn't. I would also get some upgraded speakers. That would enhance the overall system without having to worry about amps and a sub till later, if at all.

Keep in mind that this unit just has one USB on the front. If you plan on using a cable or flash drive then you will have to keep the radio door down. But with this unit you can simply do audio through the bluetooth and bypass needing to directly connect an iPod or smartphone to the head unit just remember it will run your battery down quicker.

End up upgrading and installed it myself. Totally worth the money, but found out later it doesn't work with dash controls. Not sure if I want to spend another $100 for a DCI.
I was just quoted $500 for alpine amp + 10" sub. Is that a decent combo? Not looking to go crazy, but want a decent setup.
Btw, Bluetooth streaming audio works pretty good.
Thanks for all the responses.

No aftermarket radio will work with the dash controls.
Did you end up with the powerpak? To me it seems like a hassle to install...so for that hassle id rather have a proper amp which I can hook up to a sub and my speakers.
