Default Alpine Head Unit Question

I used to have an Alpine headunit a few years back with the ipod adapter (it was a grey box). I had to search/select my songs through the headunit but I remember it being really slow to scroll through the songs. I was just curious if Alpine had improved the speed of its search feature. Thanks.

I have a new Alpine iDA-x303. It does scroll pretty slow when doing an actual artist or song search. It runs through quicker on playlists. Its a turn wheel knob so how fast I move is also a factor. Never had an Alpine HU before so I can't make a comparison. I think the speed is decent enough though.

I got the ida-x100 i cant remember, but basically direct ipod plug in...

I think it is based on how well organised your Ipod is... personally I am very methodical when uploading music to it... making sure all the Artist's albums have same properties to minimise the amount of options that the HU has to search through...

Personally it's pretty fast... in fact I have a video on youtube of me scanning through it...

The newer version is the 305 which is IPhone compat too...
