Default Alpine IDA-X001 Alpine IDA-X100 Help

Hey,
I have 2 Alpine headunits (IDA-X100 and IDA-X001) one in my S2000 and one in my STI.
I am having trouble setting the custom wallpapers?
I've DL the free wallpapers from Aplines website themself and transfered them to my USB... But nothing??? On my USB it shows it's in there..... But when pluged in to the Apline reciever it doesnt show??? Is there something I am doing wrong?

I have the X001 in my truck. I set the wallpaper a few days after install so it definately works. My truck is being used by my parents until next weekend (long distance). I can't check until then. I'll get back to you if you are still having problems.

Checked it out. The instructions in the manual worked for me. Sent them by PM.

Which one would you recomend the IDA-X001or the IDA-X100 my question is simple Crutchfield has it for $ 269 (001) so I am close to pull the trigger, any advice will be apreciated. I am torn between this one and the IDA-X100 currently $349 main concern is the IPOD interface

I've had both and can offer my opinion.

I was so crazy about the X001 when it first came out that I bought it full retail from Crutchfield. There are some ergonomic issues that they didn't fix until the X100 came out. For example, in the X001 the big middle button is "search" instead of "enter" like an ipod, and the X001's center knob only toggles left and right instead of going all the way around. Sounds simple, but trust me it's a night and day difference when navigating artists and playlists!

You can even scroll page by page by pressing the outer ring in and then turning left or right. Plus the X100 has TONS more options for you to adjust the sound (parametric EQ, time delay, phase) as opposed to the X001's bass and treble and sub level.

Long story short...get the IDA-X100, and rock on.

I second that! The IDA-X100, is just way way better! But the IDA-X001 is not bad either.
Only reason I got the IDA-X001 is because the guy I bought it from was giving it to me for an extra $50 bucks on top of the IDA-X100

i would highly recommend the DCI and "plug n play" harness from Modifry:

http://modifry.com/products/dci/buy.htm

this lets you maintain the dash audio controls (volume, mute that pauses the ipod, next track, etc) and you just connect the pieces together, no splicing necessary.
