Default Alpine ida-x305 with Modifry DCI and Harness

I've been reading up on the DCI plug and play harness for Alpine decks and it says its plug and play. I just want some confirmation that the full install (alpine head unit, DCI) is completely plug and play. I've never done any wire splicing so I'd like to avoid that if possible.

To clarify, the 3 things I will need are:

1. Alpine x305, obviously
2. Modifry DCI
3. Plug and play harness for Alpine decks from Modifry

Are these all I need and does the plug and play harness require an IR DCI or wire DCI? Thanks.

So with those items, the full install is just all plug and play?

Does it matter if I get the IR DCI or Wire DCI?

I got the wired and it was just plug and play. Read through modifry's directions and once you have all the parts on hand, it's easy to see how it all goes together.

Thanks.

I noticed on Modifry's page he has a warning saying that using the wired DCI in conjunction with an Alpine ida series head unit sometimes causes some inputs to miss or become unresponsive when using the dimmer function on the deck. Has anyone had this problem? Should I go with an IR DCI to avoid it?

One more thing, has anyone had any issues connecting this unit to an Iphone 3G? I've heard different things from the reviews. Some say it works perfectly, some say it doesn't at all, some say it works but is a bit finicky (will throw an error if you already have a song playing and plug it).

My iPhone 3G work fine with the Alpine x305. Have not note any problems. I have the wired DCI version.

Go wired unless your head unit only supports the IR DCI.

Just don't use the dimmer if it's an issue.

Best deal I found was on the link below. Has anybody ordered anything from them? Should I have any reservations?

http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/alpineida-x305.aspx
210 dollars, shipped.

Edit: They seem to have horrible reviews. http://www.resellerratings.com/store...Cost_Car_Audio
