Default Alpine ida-x305 Tips!

I just installed it and it's great however a few things bug me.

1. The songs in an album are not listed by track number like they are on my ipod/phone. They are listed alphabetically. Is there a way to change this other than placing a numerical value before each song title?

2. My radio door barely closes. Just barely. When you push the door in to open/close, it pushes the double action encoder button in. It works but seems like a very tight fit.

3. How do I upload a background? Is there a specific type image file I need?

1: Idk. When I go to my "Songs" folder on my iPod through the headunit, they're ALL messed up.... Doesn't even seem like they're organized in any way.

2: Mine barely closes also, you have to push it directly on the latch thing on the side. I'm wondering about modifying my brackets, to push it back another 1/8th to 1/4th inch, by drilling the holes more elongated, so it slides back further.

3: You gotta go to alpines customization page (Can't remember what it's called), and they have ones you can download from there. I think there a program you can download too that converts them to the .apn or w/e they are. You gotta upload them STRAIGHT to the MAIN folder of the hard-drive/usb, and then connect it to the headunit, and go to the display settings and click download GBV or w/e the acronym is.

Thanks. Does anyone have an .apn converter? The links I found are all dead.

Found it: http://josh1.com/Music/AlpineImageConverter

Here's an image I made converted using that tool. I use the red illumination because I feel it better matches our amber interior, hence the dark red s2000 logo.

I might play around with the positioning of the logo though. I think a lot of the text and what not covers it.

I'd settled on this one. I like it.

S2k007... could you post those .apn files for us or email it to me?

Also, there's a huge collection of APN files over at http://www.pride-rock.com/ Alpine's files are limited and not so great.

You can find the apn files I made here: http://josh1.com/Projects/AlpineImageConve...allery?page=239

After they are converted they are loaded to the gallery (if you choose to allow it) for everyone to use.

how long does it usually take for the headunit to upload the pictures and how many pictures can you have loaded on the HU?

It takes like 5 seconds for a picture. As far as I know the head unit doesn't store more than 1 picture (the picture currently displayed). If you want to change it, you have to upload another one.

Aye. You just hit "Download" and it list all the files, but you can only select one. Pretty disappointing, cause I wish I could store multiple. Also wish they had a way to change the colors on the display. I'd like a black/white, instead of red or blue.
