Alpine ida-x305 Tips!
It does! Even Podcasts. Another thing I had no idea about until recently is (at least the X100) supports ALAC (Apple Lossless), so it has access to basically CD original quality.
I also didn't realize the bitstream was limited based on file format (though it's plenty for lossy), 320Kbps for MP3, 576Kbps for AAC.
@Jaeden09 - I'll take a look today and see what our ordering looks like. I almost only/always sort by artist/album, so I've probably never encountered the song based ordering. Again, I think it's meta-data related, but I'll let you know.
One more thing: I'm seriously considering the PXA-H100 Imprint module for mine. It really expands the EQ options, plus you can use it with the imprint calibration kit.
Anybody running Imprint on their IDA series?

I can change the meta-date information. I'm wondering it it's not sorting weird because of track number.
When I go to the "Songs" area, where it list ALL the songs on the iPod, is when I have the messed up sort order. I'm thinking it's sorting by track number under the "Songs" menu, which confuses me. Going to go through tonight and change all my song numbers to 1, see if that fixes it.

Regarding the bitstream limits, can you even encode an mp3 at higher than 320 kb/s?
Here are a couple threads discussing results from using the Imprint module:

ok so I am very interested in purchasing an iDA-X305, but have no knowledge electronically whatsoever...so here are my ignorant questions about this HU..
1. will I need an adapter/modifry for this HU? and if so, how the heck do I know which one to get? ive looked on multiple forums but just really dont understand the breakdown...dont wanna waste the money/time if someone can help me out.
2. when you are putting songs into the HU, as from what I have seen on youtube, it can store songs. (I could use a USB, but i do not have an ipod/iphone, so if I use the USB then how does all that work exactly?) To get songs/playlists, from my phone/mp3, to a USB, to the car??
3. I have read on a BMW forum that this head unit will not allow you to listen to the radio and jump to preset stations without going through menus...is this true?
4. Does the USB need to remain connected to play songs on it, or like a computer can it hold songs, then upload others, and so on and so forth?
I apologize for this post being full of ignorance, but it is 2:30, and I am tired of trying to search for answers that some of you may hold as common knowledge....thank you very much for reading, and please help me if you can!

1. - you will need some form of wiring harness, and if you want to retain the controls to the left of the steering wheel, than an interface for that as well. the easiest solution is the Modifry plug n play harness for alpine along with his DCI (dash control interface).
2 + 4. - the HU does not have a hard drive - it is a controller/interface only, primarily designed to control an ipod/iphone as close to the native interface as possible in a car head unit. you can also use a usb stick, but the controls are more limited. if you are serious about this head unit, it might be worth looking at ebay, etc to pick up a used ipod 5g + or a nano to take full advantage of the UI.
3. - I don't use the radio much, but there is no direct access preset buttons. You have to enter the screen for presets, then use the central controler to scroll through them.

I can't get any of the priderock stuff to work on my ida-x305
Alpine stuff works though... sucks.
