Default Alpine IDA X313 with modifry

Hi

I would like to change my stock head unit, so I read a lot of thread here and on some other forums but I want to be sure of that I chose before to place my order.

So in first I just want to change the head unit with the possibility to preserve the dash board control.

If I've understand all that I read I just need 2 things :

- The Head Unit
- The modifry system

Is it right ? No more wire to plug the HU on my S2k ?

For the HU I choose an Alpine IDA X313 to use this with my iphone and for the bluetooth compability with the KCE 250 or 400 module and for the modifry version I don't know if the wired version will running on so I think to order the IR DCI (the wireless).

And is it hard to plug ? For 25$ more they purpose a PnP modifry, is it interesting or useless ?

Ps : I'm sorry I'm not very good in english

I think I'm right now :

I plug "1" on the stock harness, I put "3" over the head unit for the IR and I plug all that behind the HU on "2", correct me if it's wrong

If it's OK I'll order this tomorrow !

The wired DCI works very well and is easy to use. It's more straight forward than the IR unit because you just plug it in the back. You don't need to worry about positioning the IR transmitter or interference from sunlight.

I don't know why you have 3 marked on the back of the back of the head unit.

You will need to order the stereo adapter harness (unless the retailer you purchase the head unit from includes one for free). This costs about $12, so if you look at it that way, the PnP harness is only about $13 more.

How much soldering do you want to do? The PnP harness makes replacing the head unit and installing the DCI a snap. Your call.

Thanks for your answers, I've check the detailed notice from the website and then you have a mini jack for the steering wheel control on the rear side the Wired DCI work fine.

And on the IDA X313 you have this mini jack !

So I'll order the Wired DCI + the modifry harness adaptator at 25$.

And I'll have this system :

Normally I just have to plug the modifry harness adaptator to my S2k and it will be OK is it right ?

If you order the $25 PnP harness, you're getting this:

You just plug in the car side, head unit side, and DCI side. Really easy.

Also, you may want to consider the $3 SCV wire, so you can have the DCI increase the volume as vehicle speed increases to compensate for the increased noise from driving.

Sorry in advance for the newb question- can anyone tell me what the blue and yellow amp wires are (on the modifry P&P for alpine)? I am installing this into a 5 ch JL amp, and can't seem to find that written anywhere.

Thanks!

As one arrow depicts, one is for your amp - remote turn-on/off. I assume the other is either for a power antenna or a dimmer. Regardless, the Alpine PnP harness is truly plug and play, don't worry about it unless you have an external amp.

I do have the external amp (JL 5 channel).

I assumed one is the power wire for remote lead. Power antenna makes sense, I just don't know which is which (or if that assumption is correct).

Thanks!
