Alpine Type-R Sub/box combo - Goo
*** The "Goo" in subject line is a typo
***
Just wanted to share this. I was at a shop and came across this sub+box from Alpine:
The dimensions of the box are pretty close to the trunk well's dimensions. It should fit (with maybe 1/2 inch diff at the sides), but I did not actually try. For $280.00 this looks like a pretty good Sub option.
I purchased a 12" Type-R sub last year but it did not sound very good in the box I had. This 10" in the Apine ported box sounds pretty damn good.
Here are more details:

Also, the silver square thing around the sub can be remove/replaced/custom painted

You're kidding me...a 10" sub in a ported enclosure that can fit in our trunk well?
btw...you should point your link here:

Only two have made it into existence
One that fit above the tools that would be better suited for a sealed 8" rather than the sealed 10" I had...
And the one I have now...that fills the whole spare tire well and would work with the better 10's out there and one 12" that does surprisingly well in small boxes
This newest design is just in case I decide down the road that I *really* need to hear what 25 Hz sounds like
