I finally settled on the type r's heard them at sound city and they sounded very good, though I bought them from pc richards.

What kind of amp is recommended to run these speakers and about how much do they run?

I would run at least 35w to them put their RMS power is 50w, so an amp that is anywhere between 35w and 50w would be reasonable.
