ok guys, got some questions.

Here's what I already have from my old car:
Kappa 6.5 components
Aura Bass Shakers
Kicker 8" sub

That leaves me needing a head unit and an amp to run it all. I have decided to buy an Eclipse 5444 head unit after months of shopping. Until today I had decided to get a JL 300/4 (2 channels for the kappas and the other 2 bridged for the sub, shakers can use the head unit power), but I just came across a good deal on an Eclipse 5422 amp. I can get the JL for 400 and the Eclipse amp for 330. What do y'all think, JL or Eclipse?

Also, I found the deal on the Eclipse amp at www.boostcaraudio.com, any experience with them?

JL makes quality everything.

I am awaiting delivery of the Soundstream Van Gogh VGA800.5. I paid $330 inclding delivery. When bridged you get 200w X 2 @ 4 +400 for the sub. Not sure how the Bass Shakers work, but you could use 5 channel mode with 3 and 4 going to the shakers.

If you are only considering those 2 amps, I would say go with the JL.

where did you order the soundstream amp from, that is a good price. haven't heard much about them, still have more research to do i guess.

I have had an unusually high amount of contact with them because of Paypal being down. I couldn't get them paid.

They have been very responsive to my emails and to the one telephone call that I made. Other than that, I have not received the amp as of yet. It was just ordered last week.

I should get it in the next 2 days.

ok, now i am worse off than before i posted this. got 1 vote for eclipse, 1 vote for jl, and now i am interested in soundstream. i guess i just need to go out and buy 1. thanks for all the advice though.

I am in the same situation with trying to pick out a sub.
