Default Which amp for Infinity Perfects?

Which amp will be sufficient to explore the full potential of the infinity perfect 6.1's (100/400 RMS/peak)? the alpine 2.150 or 4.150?

I'm not sure the specs on those amps, but those infinitys should be 4 ohm speakers.

You will need an amp that will run 100-150 watts at 4 ohms.

ex:

100 x 2 @ 4 ohms
150 x2 @ 4 ohms

Amps running at a 2 ohm load will also get more power, so you will be able to get a smaller amp to meet your power needs.

the 2.150 runs at 150x2 while the 4.150 runs at 150x4 (which i guess = 300x2 bridged). so ur saying the 2.150 should be fine? i won't be missing out on any of that "peak" power?

first of all, the kappa perfects, unlike the regular kappas, are 4-ohm.
second, you should generally ignore "peak" numbers - I'm guessing
Infinity only quotes them because some (crappy) manufacturers
quote "peak" power for their amps because it makes them sound
sooo powerful.
The speakers are rated to 100 watts RMS, so IMHO 150 watts RMS
should be sufficient.

if its running at 150 x 2 @ 4 ohms, then those would be great. Look at the specs.

150 x 4 is if you're trying to put 150 watts to each tweeter + door speaker.

yea, the PDX amps run the same power at both 2 and 4 ohms. so now that that's settled, one more thing. does anyone know if the alpine 9883 HU has an eq and how many bands it includes? how about the 9857?

Uhh... So basically your asking whether or not you need a 2 channel or 4 channel amp?? For just the kappa perfects you'll need a two channel. Just in case you didn't know, (I had no clue what I was doing when I started to put together my setup) 1 tweeter and 1 6.5 are wired to one crossover, then each of the two crossovers is wired to a channel on the amp. Also, I have these speakers. 150wrms is a good choice. I wouldn't go under that. The speakers are rated at 100wrms so a 150 rated amp will give you 100 with very little distortion, and will run fine when the gains are set properly. So go with the alpine 2.150.
