I am going to install my Alpine cda-7969 w/ my Alphasonic amp--my question is any idea of a location to run the power wire to the battery? I want to try to avoid drilling into the fire wall or if I do where? A suggestion would be aprreciated

There's this rubber grommit to the left bottom corner of the battery. I removed the battery for easier access. Boy, batteries are pretty heavy. Anyways, I made a slight incission in the rubber with my utility knife to allow two 10 guage wires to go through. I stuck it through the rubber grommit and it was inside the cabin. I think that's how the other guys did it, but I've never seen pics of it. I hope that helps. It was actually pretty easy compared to the 12 guage speaker wires I had to shove through those little rubber hoses in the door. What a bitch that was. Good luck.

The battery side grommet is large enough for 4 gauge cable. The two grommets on the drivers side will fit 0-gauge. From the sound of it you can get away with the battery side.

This is what you want to push it through. You have to move the battery aside though

Thanks, Lucid I looked over the engine compartment and couldn't figure out where to start! I didn't want to pay an installer- every time I have had something installed they have messed up the stereo piece.

After you cut a slit, do you just route the wire thru and does come out around the floor pan of the passenger side?

Be sure to remove the negative from the battery (10mm wrench)

What I did was pull the grommet out of the hole, pulled one end with needle nose pliers and used an exacto knife to cut a small slit. Push it through and it will end up in cabin as you said.

Keep your power wire and speaker wires away from each other otherwise you'll get the alternator noise (pitch changes with throttle).

No need to cut a slit- I was able to pass a 4 AWG wire through the factory hole. It's rubber, and stretches quite a bit.
