Default Amp Location

I have had a good look around the site and there are some awesome installs but I am not looking to make major mods to the boot space.

Have any of you guys got some pics or suggestions as to where to place this amp??

Your experience would be most appreciated.

sounds like the one that I have.....I think its the 7820. I am just going to put it to the left of the tool well. It fits almost perfectly there. I am just going to screw into the floor. I was going to put it on the lid of the trunk, but it is just too big for that. If you are not too tall, you might be able to just attach it behind the driver's seat to the trim panel.

I am not putting it behind the seat. I am thinking about getting a slightly smaller Memphis amp to go there and power the cabin speakers. The Infinity will be to push the sub. I am putting it to the left of the tool well....fits almost perfectly, and if the wires are run correctly, almost none should be visible. It also would take minimal storage space away. I was going to mount it vertically on the rear (looking at trunk from the rear), opposite the spare tire. The only problem was it was too big, and got in the way of the trunk springs. If you are willing to switch to a gas shock for the trunk lid, that is an even better place.

I am using Blaupunkt speakers in the cabin....great bang for the buck. Got the S-pod speakers for $45 and the door speakers for $40. The door speakers retail for $295, but they are last year's model.....ODCa660 is the model number. I had to custom cut some MDF spacer rings, as they were too big for the stock baskets. I have heard that the Infinity Reference series are almost direct drop in replacements for the stock speakers. The new Blaupunkt Overdrive series are also shallow mount, and should work in the doors as well.

My JL 600Wx4 is roughly the same size....Mounted it on the back panel in trunk and it fits perfectly with minimal wire connections showing.....not much space to work with and still keep the fuctionality!

PM email for PICS

Why not put it under the convertible tray to the left of the spare tire? That's where mine is... Tweeter installed it there so I assume that was the best real estate for the amp.

Kinda a PIA to get in there. Especially with self-tapping screws. Not enough room to torque them in. the way mine is setup, I can still throw crap on top of it if I need to, as the only exposed wires are the RCA's, and they are not getting pulled out by loose stuff in the trunk. I would also be kinda concerned with air flow in there. This thing gets kinda hot as is.
