Default AMP + New Wiring = ????

I'm going to put rewire everything once i understand this whole thing. Here are two pics. I'm not sure how to wire them. If someone could just tell me which process is correct. Should i wire it so that the music goes thru the rca , thru the amp, and finally thru the speakers. Or should put the new wire from the head unit to the speakers and just amp them from their. You tell me, thanks

Second one is correct. Though it still seems that you might want to have a knowlegable friend help you with your install or have a pro do the install and see if you can watch. I really hate to see you blow something up especially in this car.

When i change the wires, what do i do with the wire connecting the speakers to the head unit. Should i just leave it unpluged? And how would i go about connecting the amp to the new speakers. I'm thinking of going into the carpet from the back of the passenger seat and just wire it thru the kick panel and thru the door. Correct? thanks

when running you amp cables... you know the big fat red one that goes to the battery? make sure it's not plugged in when you are trying to run it.
