i have recently purchased a set of the diamond hex s600s, which the manufacturer claims handles up to 170w.

so then what kind of amp do i need--how much power?

if i get one that makes 100w x 2 @ 4 ohms, is this going to be enough power? or do i want 200w x 2 @ 4 ohms?

and do i use any of the power of the built-in amp on my hu, or is this not possible?

i'm having a professional do all the installs, but i thought i'd try to save some money by ordering equipment online... thanks in advance for everyone's help.

the 100w x 2 would work fine, only advantage of haven the 200w x 2 is that the amp will run cooler and you might get a little better sound because its gonna stress the amp will have more than enough power to run the speakers.
