I just bought two 12" jl w6's. I need some recommendations on a amp.

A 500/1 would be woefully underpowered for 2 JL W6's. If it was for a single W6, I'd say go for it.

Could always try for a pair of 500/1's though...

those subs are rated at 500W ea. They both going in you S?

So 1000w would be perfect? They're going in my Grand Cherokee. That'd be nuts in the S.

LoL...I was going to say the same thing about putting them both in the S.

Yeah, 1000W would be ideal in the proper sized enclosure. Keep in mind that the volume of the enclosure is going to affect the power handling capabilities of the subs. The closer the enclosure is to the recommended size, the better those subs can handle that 1000W. Even if the size is off, you'll be able to turn the amp down - better to have more than needed than not enough...
