using the proper size is ideal. Running larger gauge is optional. 1 guage will probably be overkill and just make running the wires through the car that much harder.

Of course, that requires quality speakers (not Alpine/JL/MB Quart/etc).

Wait what's the difference between active setup and bridging?

Damn I had thought alpine were good quality speakers, what are good quality speakers that we can fit into our doors?

Well, if you're going to run Active...there are a number of selections that will work for you in a similar price range.

What, exactly, is your price range (if you don't mind me asking)?

Well I really don't know which is better bridging or active I don't know about this kind of stuff(I'm buying the parts someone else will do the install for me that's why I wanna learn) as for spending limit I don't really have a limit as long as it is compatible with my amp so I don't have to go buy another amp. I just don't know about brands or quality speakers I always thought alpine was good

A properly tuned Active system will sound much better than bridging your amp to a Passive system.

A passive system has 2 speakers per output channel of your amp (i.e. bridging your amp makes 2 output channels, rather than 4).

An active system has 1 speaker per output channel of the amp, with nothing between the amp and the speaker. This allows the amp to directly impact the performance of the speaker, rather than sending the audio signal to a passive xover which, to some extent, isolates the speaker from direct amplifier control.

In other words, an active system gives your amp more control over each speaker.

There are other benefits, but this is the primary one.

Can I do that with the alpine type R speakers or is that for quality speakers? What are good quality speakers I can run with same amp?

Are you referring to using crossover(s) and not? I thought each channel on the amp is for 1 speaker. So if you had a 2 channel amp it would be hooked up to 2 speakers, 1 for each channel.
