Default Amplifier opinion

So I need some opinions on a high powered amp. I will be running Infinity Perfect 6.1 in the doors which are supposed to handle 200wrms and I want to run 2 10's in the trunk in WLaurent boxes. What I am looking for is a high powered 3ch or 4ch. I only want to run 1 amp and put it under the passenger seat.

Thanks,

Mike

That makes sense. I would like to put >=150 per channel on the fronts and at least 300 to the 2 10's.

I'm curios, what size amp will fit under the seat?

I had mine out this last weekend and I dont think you can get anything that produces that kind of power, in a package that small.

There are some small amps that may fit under the seat if you beat the bottom of the seat pan in a little bit. Mcintosh makes small amps that have lots of power but they are pretty pricey. I would need to know his price range before recommending an amp. If money is no object Mcintosh all the way.

Given your budget and the power you want to push to all your speakers. I would recommend the Phoenix Gold X200.4 Xenon 800 Watt 4 Ch. Amplifier. You can find the amp for around $550 I have found it from woofersect.com for $469.00. The only draw back is you won't be able to mount it under your seat.
The amps specs
200W x 4 (4-1 ohm stereo)
400W x 2 (8-2 ohm bridged)
variable thermal feedback controlled fans
24dB Linkwitz-Riley low pass and subsonic filter
optimized for any impedance load
Tried and true triple Darlington output stage
Buffered RCA full range thru output
Remote Monitoring Display (RMD) port
Low Pass Level control ready (LPL-44)

I personally, dont recommend the Xenon line for one reason.....they are good amps, however, they have a regulated power supply, meaning, same power regardless the ohms. Other amps can push MORE power at 2 ohms, making your system louder, for the same amount of money.

Gotswap, whats your budget?

Also, you are NOT going to get any amp worth a damn that can put out good power, and fit under the passenger seat. Not gonna happen, so forget about it.

I would never recommend running your front speakers in 2ohms. They will not sound as good and it's like running an well I can't find something to compare it to but I would simple not do it. Almost all speakersare made for 4ohms and sound the best in this mode. Ok it I thought of something now. It's like doing steriods to get real big real fast. It's fine for awhile then it's all down hill. well if that makes since.

I'm definately not dead set on it fitting under the seat, was just a wish. My thought was to put spacers under the seat rails as well and there is plenty of front to back room for a fairly good sized amp. If it won't fit then it won't fit so in the trunk it goes. I would like to stay around the $500 range.

hecash.....nice amp but I am looking for a bit more.
