Listen, lets settle this. I dont hate JL. I dont think they are garbage. I never bash the quality of JL (certain products only W7 cough cough)

They are good products and are surely better than A LOT of products out there. However, for the money, you can buy BETTER products. THis is all I am saying. And in reality, money is where its at.......and most of us just dont have $$$ to burn......but then again, I said most of us "moneybagsandy"

I want booming base and tantalizing treble- pun intended. I want a all around nice sounding system. I will probably spend 2 or 3 grand. thats the max- I wouldn't be angry if I stayed under 1500.00 though.

thanks

for the 500/1-300/2-12w6v2-xr650csi I was plannig to spend around $1100, installation, cables, custome box, i am looking at around 1500 I think like NFR.

This is ofcourse if I go JL i still havent made up my mind, after NFR showed me that big ass amp.

I love doing this......build-a-system........here goes......HU......

1. Head Unit - Alpine 9807mp3/wma
-no motorized face....used to own one....became more annoying
than it was worth

-the only thing it doesnt have over the other Alpine's is the Time
correction, which with 2 speakers, I dont see the point.

Price at ETRONICS.com 221.99

2. Component Speakers -

Although I suggest you give speakers a listen yourself, I recommend these with no reservations.....

Focal 165 K (ONLINECARSTEREO.com $319.00)
Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 (IKESOUND.com 209.99)

Both are amazing speakers and its up to you and only up to you which ones you like.

3. Subwoofer - What else, and how can you go wrong....

Either of the two....

Elemental Designs e10K.44 / 14 available direct from http://www.edesignaudio.com/ for $125

Followed by a Soundstream Tarantula 10" from ETRONICS.com for 159.99

4. Amplifiers....??? Depends on what you get for sub/speakers, and space.
Do you need trunk space, do you want 1 amp or 2???

5. Wiring, KNUKONCEPTZ.com about $100.

You got a kick a$$ system in the making.....lets get the rest of the info so we can set you up real nice.

Don't mean to steal your thread but I'm gonna be putting a system together soon with about the same setup, so I think we can use the same advice.

I haven't heard the Infinity's, so I was thinking about doing the JL XR650csi becuase they sound good. Do you still like the Infinity's better than these NFR? I really want good mid bass out of the door speakers.

Probably go with an Alpine HU so I can use the Lucid/Modifry DCI for dash controls.

I would like to get 1 amp that could run everything. The XR's/Infinity's and a 10" sub. Not sure which sub I'm going with.

I love how the square Kicker Solobarics look, but it seems everyone either loves/hates how they sound. I personally haven't heard them.

Thanks for your help!
