Any opinions on: Dual XHD 7720 ?
hey everyone, a couple months back I had a rockford fosgate amp along with some Infinity component speakers installed. Now I am going to replace the stock radio reciever with a NON-In-Dash-video reciever.
My 3 most important qualifications are:
1.) Must have built in HD.
2.) Must have a front auxiliary jack.
3.) Must NOT look like it's front the early 90's.
After looking around on Crutchfield I came to the conclusion that I like the Dual XHD 7720 the best. (the looks are way better than some of the older 90's designs)
I can't tell however if it comes with the ability to hook up to our remote toggle controls on the other side of the steering wheel. I'll probably have to call them up and tripple check on that one......
Does anyone have any experience with this reciever? Or what would you guys MOST recomend for a high quality non-video reciever that retains our toggle switches??

Dual is garbage. Do not buy it. Dual is on the bottom of the ladder with Jensen. I have been an installer at Best Buy for 3 years now and I have seen dual radio last an hour before something has broken and the unit needs to be replaced. I have never not had problems with the decks and mobile videos they make.
Buy a quality unit like pioneer, alpinee, JVC, Eclipse.
These units may cost more but in the long run they will be more reliable and have more features.

I know it's just a matter of aesthetics... but most of the quality brands won't muddy-up their faceplate with an aux-in jack. They'll have cables from the back of the deck reaching to any spot in the car you want, like the side pocket in the passenger footwell (that's a common placment).
Not sure if Modifry makes a DCI for Dual units.... He sticks to major brands. They do work for Kenwood, JVC, and Clarion a bit differently compared to the other major brands.
From Modifry's website:
"The above chart is good for most head units, including Sony, Alpine, Pioneer, Panasonic, Eclipse, Blaupunkt, and Nakamichi. Because some brands have unusual remote functions, the DCI works a little different for these head units: Kenwood, JVC, Clarion."
You would need a PAC SWI-X to retain stock dash controls, and would require programming, and the response time is noticeably slower than the modifry unit...
