Any point getting a Subwoofer if I have an Exhaust?
I have been looking into getting a subwoofer to add more bass to my aftermarket system.
The thing I am concerned about is that I have a Spugen exhaust kit. I don;t know how a subwoofer would sound if I have a catback exhaust.
Is it worth it?

It definetely sounds worse without one. Music, especially with good components, plain and simple sounds like crap without bass. Im not talking rap bass, but most music utilizes low frequencies. I would definetly get one.
My friend and I were just talking about this. We were listening to metallica's unforgiven, and were saying how bad this song would sound like crap without a sub. Get one, wont be disappointed.

Not really. The toolwell is the ideal place. Mounting a woofer in the spare compartment is really tricky, and I dont think the sound would be as good as the toolwell. Its almost as if it was designed foe a sub.
I guess I'll put the amp where the spare was and the sub where the tools were.
I was thinking about getting a Kicker L7 (not sure of the size)
Maybe a 10" or 12". I should be able to fit that no problem right? I want it to be same size as the tool foam and cover if possible. I need the trunk space...

Dont get kicker bro.....get a respectable sub. I cant tell you how many people bring the L7s back to shops because they blow. Id say about 85% of L7 owners needed to replace them. Get something else.
You're kidding me. I thought the Solo Barics were one of the most well thought of subs. All that "20% more bass from the square design" stuff...
What do you recommend? I'm not looking to make more bass than the guys who are really into audio, I just want to round out my system.

but i can't help but wonder Dave --
are the Kicker's brought back due to failure in the speakers or failure in the users? how many of them are overdriven way into distortion for extended periods of time?
imo, L7's are respectable subs when powered correctly... however, don't expect anything much more than a 'boom' from them... they are the exact opposite of a SQ (sound quality) sub...
i'd agree with Dave that you should get a more respectible sub -- just for different reasons.

Well Phil.....the blowing was circumstantial. What i mean is....Kicken rates them at a certain power level. When powered at the proper level, after extended use (ive seen them blow in 3 songs) the coil burns up, or cone rips. So...either they are crap, Kicker overates their RMS and causes a kaboom, or god himself doesnt like kicker.
