Default Any using the new ED 10" sub with WLaurent

Noticed WLaurent has new 10" enclosure with the Elementa Designs 11kv.2 sub, was wondering if anyone has this, or heard the sub. If so how good is it? Does it really sound good with the limited amount of space available? I'm intereted in adding this to my system, currently running Alpine CDA9835 HU and Alpine Components up front.

There is a thread floating around here with reviews from a couple of people who have tested it. The rest of us should be getting our subs in the next week or so. I'm sure there will be tons of feedback posted then. I for one am very excited to get mine soon.

I'll do a search for it, it definately sounds like a great deal and saves a ton of space.

Yeah, there was a preliminary model that went out. The tests results were VERY positive.

I am expecting to see mine late this week or early next week.

The I guess I'll have to put the battery back in the car, huh?

i've heard it... in fact, i had it for quite a while before i sent it back.

i had extensive plans for a huge review covering all kinds of musical styles, and i still may take my notes and put one together...

but the end all of it is this:

it sounded pretty dang good for what it was. was it the ultimate sub? no... but for the price, size, power handling, etc.? it was very impressive. quite musical on just about anything i could throw at it. (and i tried just about all - pop, rock, metal, rap, dance, electronica/techno, folk, jazz, alternative.... just about everything but country and R&B.) it did have some low end extension losses (ie. very very deep bass wasn't as loud as you might have hoped), but that's simply a fact of life when dealing with a sealed enclosure this small. it's almost impossible to get super deep bass that's loud, AND have a small enclosure (and i mean almost theoretically impossible). even with that said... the super deep bass was still very much a presence, was very tangible, and could still give you a solid back massage. i'm just super picky...

i was throwing about 450Wrms @ 2 ohms mono bridged.

in the other thread, i had some other comments of a similar nature. they should be taken in conjunction to each other.

Thanks for the info, just finished reading through the other thread ( https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...%20designs&st=0 ). Good information, I'm really thinking about ordering this setup ASAP.

heh. order soon...

as best i understand it, there will probably be a waiting list if you delay long...

if nothing else, i know that ED has had some delays (surprise!? ) in shipping the 11kv.2's. i'm currently waiting on an 11Ov.2 myself, which has AGAIN been delayed.

elemental designs makes some fine sounding speakers, but they REALLY need to get a grip on their supply and ordering issues. Ben himself has assured me (because i told him what i thought... ) that they are making big strides in eliminating this problem...

This sucks, I probably won't have the money together for another week...

I wonder how much trouble I would get in with the wife if I placed the order today...

I think all the issues on the 11kv.2's have been worked out already. The backorders are starting to ship now. So if you ordered next week, you should be fine.

I think Phil is just trying to scare you. J/K Of course.

who me?

not trying to scare you... really, i wasn't. it's just ED's reputation for delivery and stock isn't exactly..... good.

i'd think that w/in a few weeks of now shouldn't be much of a deal.
