Anybody with the Infinity Ref 6500 cs speakers in the door?
Somebody mounted the Infinity ref 6500cs in the door?
Please could you give me some feedback about these speakers.
(I 'd like to combine them with Infinity ref 5000cs in the S-Pods)
Thanks

If you are going Infinity.....the ones you chose arent too bad, but spend a few more bucks and get the kappa perfects. Ikesound.com has them for like 220, buck do a little searching and youll find them for under $200. The sound is a world of difference.
Thanks for your answer, but I thought the Infinity ref's have a silk dome tweeter, whereas the Kappa perfects have an aluminum tweeter, which gives (meaning of some people also on this board) the "harsher" highs.
In addition: at the moment I'm not driving the speakers with an amp, but with an aftermarket headunit (JVC KD-SH77).
And.. here in Switzerland I can't find the "perfects 6.1" for less than CHF 580.-- (=$460.--) whereas the Ref 6500cs would cost me CHF 200.-- (= $ 158.--)
Last but not least, I read some customer meanings, that the Ref series has a smoother and more pronounced mid bass (but I would like to hear some more opinions from owners)
If you really recommend the Perfect 6.1 I will have to order them from the states (Which shop would be best? Remember, I live in Switzerland!)

I have a customer coming in today for an adjustment of his fog lights, I think we put the reference series in his S in the front and the rear S-pods. I will get some feedback from him and let you know.

HI all,
Yea, thats me Neil was talkin 'bout.
I have the Infinity 6 1/2" component speakers in the doors and plan on having Neil putting the 5 1/4" Infinity components in the S - pods. I like the Infinity due to its clear and strong mid range and solid highs. To my ears, the highs are very smooth without the harshness I have heard in other speakers.
Hope this info is helpful.

I have these speakers in the doors of my MR2-Spyder and I like them. They are nice but I have heard better. If you are planning on using them without an additional amp they are a good choice because they are very efficient and will put out some decent volume without a lot of power. I am running mine off an external amp and really, for a convertable installation where there's lots of road/wind noise (and mechanical noise in the S), they are just fine.
