Anyone have a Kenwood X600F amplifier?
Hey all.
So I purchased an Alpine CDA-105, KTP-445 power pack, Modifry DCI kit, and Polk DB6501 component speakers about a month ago and I'm not fully satisfied with the setup. It's definitely missing bass. So I gave in and bought a JL Audio Stealthbox, Kenwood X600F amplifier, and Knukonceptz 8 gauge amp installation kit.
Here is where everything is blurry for me... When I ordered the JL Audio Stealthbox from ebay, the description clearly stated that the subwoofer is a 10w3v3 4-ohm. Upon reading the manual it says that the sub is a 10w3v3-2 (2-ohm)
So I bought this Kenwood X600F amplifier which claims that it is "300 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms (2-ohm stable in bridged mode)" and I figured this is perfect since the other 2 channels can provide "100 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms" to my Polks.
Again, now I went through the manual and no where does it say that it's 2-ohm stable in bridged mode (says "Bridged (4ohm) 300 W x 2" and that's it).
So what am I to do here? Tomorrow when there is light outside I am going to see if I can pull out the subwoofer from the stealthbox to confirm exactly what ohm load it is. But if it really is 2 ohms, what should I do in this situation here? Return the amp or the sub? Is it okay for me to still use this setup (I doubt this answer is a Yes though since a simple google search seems to indicate that going lower then the amp ohm rating is worse then if I used a higher rated sub then what the amp is capable of...)
In case anyone is wondering, here is the link for the JL Audio stealthbox on ebay that I purchased.
