Any thoughts of a Garmin or Tom Tom in the center console? I

I saw it once in the useless cup holder, and considered it a great solution.

Is it hard to see there while driving? i think that would be the biggest disadvantage as to that placement.

since the antenna in the garmin is inside of the unit there could be reception issues. mine loses the satelite anytime there is something blocking it... not sure how thickness of the obstruction comes into play...

Where you guys are fitting the monitors, why not just mount an in-dash dvd/cd w/ monitor player there. I found a good deal on one.
