Default Anyone using the PAC SWI-ALP?

Ok so I just got a new Alpine 9884 cd player for my 00 s. Love it. Just decided that I would get the SWI-ALP to make my dash controls functional again. Got it and hooked the red to red (power), the black to black (ground) and the white to white (interface wire). I went to program the damn thing and I cannot seem to get the thing to read any buttons pressed on the dash. When I go into program mode I set my version and then I go to program my volume up and down and the led light will turn one (stating that it is in program mode) but when i hold the volume up button it just times out and will not program.

anyone using this and have any suggestions?

THANKS

I've used it and it will work, though if I remember right I had to read the instructions 3 or 4 times before I figured out how to program it. That was a while back and I don't remember any other details.

What's the white wire for? I notice you didn't mention how you connected the dash switch wire (green/red) to the PAC unit, but it has to connect to it somewhere.

the only wires I hooked up were:

the 3.5mm headphone jack into the back of the cd player
red (power)
black (ground)
white (interface steering wheel control wire)

nothing else

I think the green/red wire you are thinking about is the white interface wire that is suppose to connect to the controls.

i will play with it again tomorrow, hopefully something till work out

try instead of pressing volume up press like mute or something else to see if it's reading it correctly.

yea it's not a radio problem right now , sounds like a programing problem.... your turning the car on, THEN hitting the button on the pac THEN pressing the volume buttons correct?

white on white? You're supposed to hook up PAC's white wire to the #3 pin in the Honda's connector. It's supposed to be green w/ red tracer but I might be color blind, it looks blue to me.
