Have gone through 2 of its cousin in the premiere line and using a 3rd. Pioneer makes good HU. Lots of useful feature that I like. Couldn't think of anything bad about the line in general. It all depends on what you are looking for.

 

Hey man I got that exact same deck in my DSM, I love it. Lots of good features. I paid a little less at wal-mart for it. Worth every penny. Cheap, sounds great and reliable. You won't regret it.

 

I have the 3900. It's pretty good, compared to stock. I would think the 2900 is not that much different.

 

2900 just has fewer rca inputs(2, instead of 3 on 3900), and the 3900 has both hp/lp filters

i bought the 2900 for my GF because it has the front AUX and has a HP filter, which is GREAT for playing music very loud w/o stressing the speakers.

So long as you dont plan on running a 4ch amp AND a subwoofer amp together this headunit is a great choice w/o breaking the bank. plus its black so its stealth which is nice and matches the dash's black finish.
