Default Mounting an Ipod

I have been searching for this install and so far I have yet to find anyone who has tried it. I want to mount my ipod nano next to the drivers side air vent/climate controls.

Has anyone tried this? I always like to learn from others mistakes before attempting it on my own.

That's what I use...the 4 inch version lets me mount the ipod and my cell phone in visible range. I use the ipod controls to access it. I'm hooked into a JVC KD-ADV38 via ext input...not the ipod adapter. That way I can view my videos on the JVC when I want to. I use "velcro" to mount my ipod to the bracket. That way I can move it to the storage compartment and lock it up when I'm away from the vehicle.
