Default AP1 Rev Counter Dull Lights

I've recently replaced the outer dash plastics, removing the AP1 silver plastics with the AP2 black surround. However once all back together I've noticed the top end of the rev counter has gone all dim. Same goes for the fuel gauge.

Has anyone ever had a similar issue or know of the resolution. I'm unsure as to whether I've dislodged something or has it just been very bad timing.

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

Sii.

This is just speculation, but it may just be dumb luck that the bulb failed while you were working in that area. The cluster is powered by the harness so it wouldn't make sense for some of the cluster to illuminate while is a very small portion doesn't, if it were just a loose plug. In either case, here is a write up (compliments of animes2k) detailing the cluster removal along with excellent photos of bulb locations/sizes.

Aphex, thanks. I found that write up last night. I spent all of yesterday afternoon and evening once my daughter was asleep fitting the new stereo and sound system. I'm waiting until I need to run the mic wire before I pull the dash apart again. I'll check the bulbs and replace the dash surround ones that have gone. My start button doesn't light up either. I assume with it being a 2002 car the bulbs are getting tired. Might order a full new set and do them all in one sitting. Thanks again.
