Default Ap2 cluster on AP1

It's possible to put a AP2 cluster in a AP1? Can I put a JDM AP2 cluster on my AP1 or the one from Canada? Mine is cracked and since I'm going to spend someone why don't get something different?

It is possible with rewiring yes. Also from what im reading the JDM cluster is only wired to show KM/H and not switchable like our USDM clusters. If you were willing to go through with the wiring it would be best to get a UKDM AP2 cluster (still 9k).

Another method is to buy the ap2 cluster + ap2 dash harness and it should be plug and play. Obviously this involves removing the dash

I'm interested in doing this as well.

Has anyone actually done it either way?

Wiring and connectors are a lot different. AP1 has 4 connectors, AP2 has only 2, and there will some lights and displays that your AP1 won't support, like the outside temp display.

Also, the later ('06 up) AP2 displays use data buss signals to operate the temperature gauge and your AP1 drives the temp display directly from the ECU.

I don't know if non-US AP2 cars had the AP2 tranny or did they stick with the original? If the transmission changed then the speedometer will be off too.
