Audio Control Aftermarket Fun
Greetings,
I got me a fun couple of questions, I am hopping to get some thoughts from people with experience working with Side Audio Controller and Aftermarket Stereos..
So for this Xmas I got a Pioneer DEH-P6200BT stereo..
I want to replace my OEM stereo with this one, that’s no really the issue..
The issue is I still want to use the Side Audio Controller
The options I have found are to ether
1) use a Wired Dash Control Interface
http://www.modifry.com/products/dci/install.htm
Or
2) use the Pac SWI-PS
http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.as...0&CategoryID=29
The Pioneer stereo has Bluetooth Cellular service and will be working with my iPhone..
I have hear some issue with mapping the functions along with the "Mode" button..
What’s the better of the two options and anything I should watch out for?
Thanks

Definetly Modifry. I heard that the Pac is crap, and it has a delay when you press a button. There was a thread about this recently in this section. I would do it right and get the Modifry one.

I don't know if my input will help....
I don't know anything about the connectivity of the BlueTooth functions, but I currently use the Modifry wired Harness with my Alpine Deck (CDA-9887). It does come with instructions on how to adjust the "Mode" button on the Modifry unit by flipping a few switch so it might work and might not work depending on what your asking for.

Here in the UK, thre are a number of companies that produce adapters at a much lower cost than the Modifry. They don't have as many functions but work well enough
For example, for Pioneer, you need this: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ict-29-629...ol-adaptor.html
and this: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/incartec-p...er-adaptor.html
All in around £40, or $55.
No idea if these are available in the USA though.

The Modify is FAR superior to the PAC, no dispute has any merit. I ordered a Modifry DCI and their harness which is already tapped for the controller. I did NOT have to splice anything. Actually, all you have to do is connect 4 wires from the harness to the DCI, set the DIP switches to match your HU and preferences and you are off to the races. I have tried the PAC and it sucks, period. Even if you use the wired connect to your HU, there is still an unacceptable delay. Also, you need to be a wiring pro to hook it up. Go with the Modifry. You will not be sorry. More money, but you get what you pay for.
