Default Audio Help

Firstly - great forum. As a new member I have found great info here.

Looking for some advice re. rear speakers. I installed a set of SPods which I am very happy with. However, the speakers I installed have been very disappointing. They are Sony Xplodes. I know they are not high end, but none the less I am very disappointd with the overall volume. In fact, the stock door speakers sound much better. I had to identify the rear speaker output wires but believe I got them righ as the Front / Rear and Righ / Left balance works fine.

Now to my question...are these just junk speakers or did I incorrectly connect them?? I can return them so would be interested in any help. I do not want to replace the head unit at this stage due to cost but am prepared to spend up to $120 or so.

Thanks in advance for the help!

first: take the covers off the spods and check the sound. sound better?

Are they not loud enough, do they distort? when you say they sound bad, that can mean alot of things. you are probably not running enough power to them, that would be my first guess. what's the model number of the xplodes?

The model number on the box is XS-V1330A.

They sound the same with covers on or off. The clarity is fine, just poor volume. I wll confess that aftyer identifying the output wires at the head unit, I cut them and attchedth speaker wires that i ran to the back. i assumed that the output wires terminated further doenthe harness as I could not locate any factory wirig at the bck wher the factory atermarket speakers go.

is this the problem//

COnnections are good.

Thanks for the help!

If it is really low volume, you might have reversed the polarity of the speakers. Make sure + is + and - is -.
