Hi guys i have had my rear speakers installed in my s for a few months now however, i get the feeling i have too much treble in the car.

I have tweeters built into my alpines in the doors - these are quite 'meaty' speakers.

Small tweeters in the door panels, and in the rear JBL speakers these are 5.25 inch speakers which have tweeters in them also! they were bought primarly for bass.

I wish to just have bass coming from the back, would it be ideal to just disable the tweeters in the back by just disconnecting them?

i know the sound stage isnt ideal (i think its improved!), but would this help?

cheers

Your sound stage is all to pot

The 06 has 6 tweeters as stock. Two in the doors, two in each roll hoop.

Thing is you can tell the direction of treble better than bass, it also travels better than bass.

If you have any high pass filters on the amps or attenuation on the cross overs try tweaking

I had the tweeters @ -4BD front and rear in my last S.

"hing is you can tell the direction of treble better than bass, it also travels better than bass"

HF is indeed more directional, LF travels far better than HF though...ELF anyone..

You mean 5.25" coaxials with built in tweeters and cross overs or 5.25" components with seperate cross overs?

Personally i removed everything Honda conciders to be ICE.
Installed some decent speakers (combo with crossover), a HU and a power amp and left it at that.

Im surprised you get much treble with the rear speakers tucked behind the seats - or do you have them in the headrests? As Mikey says, easy to sort the problem if you have crossovers so you can reduce the attenuation, sounds like you don't have that option though. Not sure what you can do, other that move balance (i.e. fade on Alpine HUs) to the front speakers
