It does seem intimidating, but with some time and patience, you can easily do it yourself. But go with what you are comfortable. Good luck and post some pics when you are done!

I installed an Alpine iDa-x303 with the KTP-445 amp in my MY04. I installed Infinity component 2-ways (REF-6030) into the doors (they sound great).

I would advise taking out the center console. It's one piece and comes out rather easy and will give you far more room to pull the face plate off and out to get to the head unit and it'll make installing the face plate back way easier.

As well, I would advise getting the Honda KTC tool kit for doing interior panel work. They don't damage panels and really work far better than a screw driver.

If you need the part numbers, let me know.

Finally getting my gear installed tomorrow. Honda are fitting it me for a good price.

Do I need an adaptor for the aerial to go into the unit? I need to supply absolutely everything.

Thanks.

The head unit was my first time working with car electronics. I ran into the same issue. I think you just need wiggle it a little bit more and get it out.
However to be more safe, I would suggest removing the center console out first. If you remove the shift knob, And run a plug removal tool ( could use a flat head screw driver ) or even your hand, gently run it down under the console, you'll hear the plugs pop out. Remove the harnesses which connect to the roof button and then try getting the center radio door and vent piece out.

Seems intimidating, but as long as you are patient and go easy with everything you wont damage anything.

Speakers are probably even easier. I used the mounts that came with my speakers, drilled some holes in them to line up with the oem speaker baskets to make a quick spacer, snapped off the harness and soldered the wires to the speakers.

In my opinion sound deadening was of little to no significance.

Good luck if you try it out yourself but either way there's no shame in getting help.

Be glad to finally see it!

And yes, you'll probably need an aerial adaptor (ask in your UK thread to make sure).
