Default Aura Bass shaker install pics and commments

I saw the the install how to about Aura Bass shakers and I used to have a Miata with a similar idea called the MSSS. It didn't do much so I was skeptical but I thought I would try it.
I just got it finished yesterday so I don't have a lot of seat time but so far I'm really impressed.
It is certainly not like having a "real" sub but it adds a nice tight feeling low end.
I'm still experimenting with X-over settings and eq but I really like them so far.

I installed them directly to the seats (no brackets needed). I just had to pound the center hoop that the seat cover attaches to out of the way, drill 4 holes. I used 5mm bolts so had to enlarge the mounting holes in the bass shakers slightly. By the way, notice the blood in the pics? the leading edge of the seat that is exposed when you cut the 3 copper rings is razor sharp. Be careful.

Just ordered these last week!
Great install, as I'll almost be following it exactly!
How did you get the bolts in exactly? did you take off the front bull horns and then lifted the foam?
What are you driving them with?

Any other people have these installed?

You just need to cut the three hog rings (or whatever those copper wire things are called) and reach your hand in (this is where the bleeding starts). I put a thin piece of wood to catch the drill bit so it wouldn't snag the foam. Once the holes are drilled, just work your and in and feed the bolts through the holes. It's time consuming and uncomfortable but pretty easy.

An update, after some tweaking, I like these even better!

I ran them from the amp then behind the glove box (for the driver's side) and then down each side behind the seats:

I'm currently running them with a little cheap Alpine 4x50 but I have a Soundstream Reference 4.400 on the way

I have installed these on several cars, they all loved them, only thing i would do would be put a L-pad in for a adjustment of volume from drives seat.

Glad to see that this writeup still is useful. I think I did the first Prelude writeup on NTPOG back in 1998. This one I think I did in 2001 or so the first time, after getting my first S2.

I wasn't as impressed w/the S2k install as I was in the Prelude, which allowed for installation in the seatback right behind or slightly above the kidneys. It was great.

I find myself wanting more bass in my latest S2 and considering putting these in. I bought 8 or 12 of them the last time Parts Express was having a fire sale on them and I think I still have all of them. Looks like I acted too soon.
